Cora was 15 months yesterday! I took her to our new pediatrician today for her 15 month well visit. I finally found a pediatrician who came highly recommended that is super close to our house. I was still driving to our old pediatrician and the drive was getting way too long. I wish I could say her visit was all good, but she had a pretty awful morning. We really liked the doctor, but Cora had a rough visit. Nothing terribly out of the ordinary, but the two shots were of course really bad, but then she also has labial adhesion, something that is common in baby girls. She was so upset after the doctor examined her, it was just so sad. We definitely spent the day sleeping and cuddling.
On to more POSITIVE things about Cora:
-20 lbs, 8 oz and 29 inches tall. (Sonoma was 21 lbs, 30 inches at 15 months)
-Cora got her 1st tooth a couple of weeks ago, and has another one coming through on the top as well. The doctor also felt her bottom ones starting to come up. I also had Sonoma's dentist take a quick look in Cora's mouth to make sure everything was ok. She said to wait a few more months before getting too worried. I think she will be fine.
-We have come to realize that Cora just really loves to sleep. She continues to sleep between 13 and 14 hours a night....sometimes more, such as the other day when she slept a solid 15 hours in one night. She also still takes two great naps a day, an hour in the morning and 2 to 2 1/2 hours in the afternoon. I'm definitely not complaining, I'm just not used that much sleep out of anyone! She is the complete opposite of Sonoma at bedtime. Cora reaches for her crib, and doesn't want to be read to or sung to. She is so anxious to lay down and snuggle in her crib. She happily blows me a kiss and waves goodbye to me, as if she can't wait for me to leave! It's really cute and also really unheard of. (Don't hate me other Moms - Sonoma's super long bedtime routine and no more nap totally balances things out) =-p
-Cora walks really fast now and climbs on EVERYTHING. I find her on the couch ( usually rolling off ), on her rocking chair, on tables, beds, you name it.
-Cora loves baths, drinking water, Barney, Elmo, dogs, babies, her big sister, balls, her pacifier and is really starting to get more into playing with all of her toys. She can build towers with blocks and snap the blocks together, as well as do her shape bucket all by herself!
I glanced back at Sonoma's blog at 15 months and I wrote a post about desperately wanting advice for Sonoma not wanting to sit in a grocery cart or stroller (except for long runs) and Cora is the SAME way. I also asked for advice on Sonoma climbing up on all the furniture. Haha, we are going through the same thing again!
Cora is such a joy to be around and she is learning tons by the day, and trying to say new words all the time.
