The Move

We did it.  We survived a move.  It was definitely the most stressful thing we have ever done as a family.  It really took a toll on me.  I was so sick right after we moved, and I still am not adjusted to the new time zone.  We still haven't had a night to just relax on the couch or even have a date night.  Hopefully soon, because we are beat!  It is non stop unpacking, boxes, organizing, projects - lots of work.   However....we made it to Indiana and here we are!  It still doesn't seem real.  It sort of feels like a Summer vacation, minus the relaxation.  I suppose it will all feel more real once we get into a routine, a schedule-- perhaps when school starts next month.

Watching the packers pack everything up was very hard.

So many boxes.

I took pictures of all 3 girls going to sleep on the last night in their Verona Ridge Drive home.  Very bare and bittersweet.

So many neighbors stopped by the night before and the morning we left.  Everyone was gathered around, bidding farewell and sharing memories.  It was such an amazing testament to the types of friends we had in Verona Ridge.

The morning before we moved, I drove the girls by our very first townhouse in the Aurora/Naperville area.  Good old Jamestown Court.

The girls saying goodbye to Alexa.  They were all so sad.

We went through every room and outside and took pictures of everything.

The girls and I hit the road to Indiana on Thursday, June 22nd.

We checked into a hotel, had dinner with my Mom and Krista, and then I got a quick hotel workout in once Marcus arrived.

My Mom took the big girls back to Bloomington and they spent a couple of nights with her.  They had a fun time seeing "Captain Underpants" at the movie theater.

Blakesley spent the morning with Krista while Marcus and I closed on the new house.  Then, it was just me, Marcus and Blakesley for a few days while the big girls stayed in Bloomington

New home in Indiana!

After a busy day of closing, cleanings, etc, the moving truck arrived the next day on Saturday.  It took all day to unload everything.

I got out with B and we went to Costco.  Do you see her?!

And, then on Sunday, B spent the day with Krista and Scarlett so Marcus and I could tackle unpacking boxes by ourselves.

Cora and Sonoma had a nice visit with Great Grandpa.

Scarlett and Blakesley swinging together

Weeee!

Then, Sonoma and Cora spent a couple of nights with Grandma and T.

Meanwhile, Marcus and I were busy getting the playroom all set up for the girls.

I went on a run and this was a picture of the back of our house

Home sweet home

The days following the move were crazy filled moments.  Cora did spend a fun afternoon with Krista at her work doing a Make a Wish fundraiser lemonade stand for a little boy!

And, Sonoma has been busy at her new gym, DeVeau's 12 hours a week

We found a pizzeria and an ice cream shop we love.

Enjoying lunch on our deck 4th of July weekend after a swim in our neighborhood pool.
