Blakesley: 20 Months

I have to take a moment to pause and blog a bit about my darling Blakesely.  I also need to write these things down so I can update her baby book! ( that is on my to-do list! )

20 months here on Earth and it's hard to remember life without her!

I know the Spring and Summer months always fly by, and so I continue to try and soak in every waking moment with this sweet girl.  

Blakesley loves her sisters.  Every morning she bids them farewell as they get on the bus.  Blakesley is obsessed with buses.  In fact, every time we are out driving and she sees one or hears one, she screams, " BUS BUS BUS!" as though she just won the lottery!  She gets SO excited.

And the 2 afternoons the big girls ride the bus home, Blakesley waits to hear the bus and then she runs to the mudroom to greet her sisters.  On the days we pick them up at school, she looks forward to going into the office to see them.  It's so cute.

A few weeks ago we took Blakesley to the park for the 1st time since she started walking!  She loved it!  She went down slides for the first time and enjoyed trying to climb on the equipment. She is loving being outside!

This was a picture our babysitter texted me of Blakesley playing outside one day.  She loves to pull her wagon or push her car.

 Daylight Savings Time threw Blakesley off a bit, so even though we still put her down between 6:30-7:00 PM at night, it is taking her longer to fall asleep.  She is, however, still sleeping with her little bottom up in the air and I think it is the absolute cutest thing ever!  She sleeps 12-13 hours at night and naps 2-3 hours in the afternoon.  She has a pacifier, blankets, books and animals in her crib.  She is always so happy in her crib.  She loves me to rock her in the rocking chair for a few minutes before her nap and before bedtime.  I don't ever rock her to sleep, but I love when her little head rests on my chest for a bit.

Blakesley still does not like dogs, especially Wilbur.  Although, she did enjoy playing with Wilbur's toys at the end of our Bloomington trip last week, and she was handing them to him, but still did not want Wilbur to get too close to her.

Every day we can hear the church bells at least 2 times a day.  Blakelsey LOVES to listen for them, and then she tells you to "shhhh" and then starts shaking her hand, as though she has a bell in her hand whenever she hears them ring!!!  And she squeals with joy!

 Blakelsey and I have a great routine a few mornings a week at the gym when I go workout.  She now knows how to hang her coat up, get her sticker on, and walk in the kids zone without crying!  When I come back from working out and the teachers say, "Blakesley your Mom is here,"  you hear the greatest sound in the world of Blakesley screaming for me and she comes racing to give me a hug!  And then she runs to get her coat.  It's a great routine ( for both of us! ).

Blakesley is still a great eater and eats a plant-based diet.  She will occasionally have dairy in cheese, but not much.  She is super healthy and still learning the consequences of throwing her food or plate when she is "ALL DONE!" 

For months now, whenever she has a dirty diaper she tells me by waving her hand in the air for "stinky!"  Today, after she pooped, she even ran to her closet, grabbed a clean diaper, handed it to me and was ready to get up on her changing table.
