3.5 months into 2020 and fitness/nutrition work has been going strong!! I fully healed from my injury, and as y'all know, I have been making recovery a MAIN priority in my life. I finished up the last few weeks of my 23 week Hybrid Powerlifting program and moved onto a new athletic conditioning training program. It feels good to work on new goals, and even though I am in great shape, I have been SO sore. I've been doing lighter weights, lots of reps and a ton of plyometrics.
I hit new goals. I got a new max on deadlift - 225! And a new max on bench - 120. I wouldn't have been able to do either of these without my amazing trainer constantly encouraging me and reminding me to put my faith over my fear.
When my powerlifting program ended, Ryan and I decided to have some fun and try out some partner challenges. He has the strongest abs of anyone I know!
The only time Marcus and I can go to the gym together is on Saturday, but every Saturday we have had so much going on. We finally had a 2 hour window on Saturday when we could take the kids to Kids Zone.
Ryan made up a crazy hard partner workout for us. Marcus may still be sore ;)
On our recent trip to Cabo, I worked out one day with a personal trainer at the resort and had such a good time learning new exercises! As long as I am working out, I feel like myself. Do I want to every day? No, but once I do it, I feel great!
| Running with a view of the ocean. A little different than my view of the parking lot at the Monon Center! |
| I love cupping. |
No excuses. Gym every day.
I have checked off some of 2020 fitness goals already:
-Get body fat % taken
-Try a Spenga class
-Try a Shred415 class
-Get back to squatting, deadlifting and benching
-Try out one new workout skill/challenge a week
Stay tuned and stay healthy!
