This is it....the last of the sign pictures...Cora is officially 12 months old! Wow...where did this year go? I can remember going to the hospital and having Cora as if it were yesterday. I so miss when Cora was teeny tiny and fell asleep on my chest every night, but at the same time, I proud of who Cora has become and how much she has grown.
Cora is a brave, confident, fun-loving, little individual and knows exactly what she wants! She is starting to put up a fight to Sonoma, whether it is over a toy that she wants, or something she wants to climb on herself. She wants to do EVERYTHING that Sonoma is doing and she really looks up to her big Sissy. Cora is still crawling like crazy everywhere, even though she is currently limping on one of her knees. She hurt it crawling on the driveway last week! If she can stand and pull up on something to push or cruise along, she is happy doing that too. She has stood by herself for a second or two, and she took 1 step towards me today before she collapsed into my arms. Cora still does not have any teeth, but it certainly has never stopped her from enjoying just about every food she can get her little hands on. She does NOT like to be fed anything anymore. Even yogurt, I have to give her the spoon and let her try to feed herself. Insane messiness.....
Cora had her 12 month well visit today with the doctor and she weighs 20 pounds and is 28 inches tall. She is super healthy. Poor little babe got 3 shots in her legs and a heel prick for a quick blood test. Today was the worst I've ever seen her cry during shots :( :( :(
Cora loves to dance, play peek-a-boo, point at animals and make sounds, read books, sing songs, play with Little People, balls, and ride around in her wagon or little car. She also loves to ride on her new scooter, shopping cart, and push her new doll stroller. She officially has all the big girl riding/pushing toys that Sonoma has. Now they can play together with all the stuff they both have.
Cora finally said MAMA. She has only said it a few times, but at least she's saying my name now :) She still does a lot of baby signs, and points and talks in her own little babbling language that sometimes sounds like a mix between an alien and a foreign language :)
