Thanksgiving 2013

Thanksgiving has come and gone.  How did November go so by so quickly?!  We went to Bloomington, IN for Thanksgiving with Marcus' parents and it ended up being a very special holiday.  We started the trip off on an extremely sad note, as we attended a funeral of one of Marcus' dear friends.  When we first arrived to Bloomington, we dropped off the girls and drove back to Indianapolis for a memorial service for Cheryl Anne Dodd, who passed away last week after a two year battle with colon cancer.  When she was pregnant with her first baby, Liam, two years ago, they detected signs of cancer.  After she delivered a healthy baby boy, the cancer had spread and she has been fighting a hard, long battle for two years.  It was the most beautiful memorial service I have ever attended, and probably one of the saddest as well.  Cheryl was such a good friend to our family and we have many fond memories of her.  The next morning on Thanksgiving, we spent a lot of time reflecting on all of our blessings and just how much we have to be thankful for.  It was extra special because Sonoma and Cora were able to spend the holiday with BOTH sets of their Grandparents.

Love this family picture.  It was a perfect Thanksgiving at Grandma & T's house

Marcus did a GREAT job with carving the turkey!

Sonoma loved playing in the giant leaf piles that T made for her.

Auntie K and Jake came to town Friday!

We had a dinner and tree lighting at Mimi & Pa's house

Downtown for the Bloomington Tree Lighting!

Hanging out with Daddy & Great-Grandpa at the lighting!

Coco officially hates all lightings, but at least she has two awesome grandmothers!

We also had a really wonderful visit with Great Grandma:
