It's hard to believe we are almost mid-week into our first full week of 2016! The end of winter break was bittersweet; I loved having my girls home ( and Marcus had a few days off too! ), and I loved the lazy, quiet days of no hustle and bustle. However, it is always good to get back into a routine. The girls were starting to need more structure after the New Year, so here we are - back to reality.
Yesterday morning was really rough, waking Sonoma up an hour and a half earlier than she had been sleeping in over break. And, when I went to wake Cora to drive Sonoma to the bus, Cora was screaming and crying and demanded that we go to the bus without her so she could sleep ( it was very tempting!). But, we survived and had a great 1st day back into our daily routine.
We wrapped up our winter break with lots of fun:
| The girls had begged for mustaches for Christmas and Santa delivered! |
| We went to see "The Good Dinosaur" at Hollywood Palms. We all LOVED the movie. GREAT family movie! |
| The girls got lots of crafts for Christmas, so we spent some of our days at home trying to get creative. |
| Play date! |
| We got a big ice storm with snow a few days after Christmas and had to bust out the snow blower. |
For New Year's Eve, we went over to our friends, The Palmers', new house. We had a really nice dinner and the kids were entertained with many fun things to do! They did a fake countdown on Netflix at 6:00, they decorated cupcakes, had a scavenger hunt with prizes, and a huge dance party. They finished up the night watching Home Alone with the adults played pool :)
| The girls begged to go to Steak N Shake on New Years Day, so Steak N Shake it was! |
On Saturday we took the girls bowling! I did not know that the alley would raise the bumpers up and down between kids and adults. It was so fun! Cora really was not into it that much, but Sonoma had a blast and she BEAT Daddy. I won :)
| As soon as we sat down to put on our shoes, the first thing Sonoma said was, "Mommy these shoes are NOT pretty." |
Over the break we got a TON of house projects done! One of my favorites below:
We also organized crafts, bins, the basement, closets. I feel SO much better!
On Monday, Cora started her very own gymnastics class. No more Parent-Tot classes! She did a great job and she was excited to be going to the same gym Sonoma goes to.
