Happy 5 Months, Blakesley!

5 whole months...22 whole weeks.... my baby is getting bigger each and every day!  Blakesley continues to radiate joy and love wherever she goes.  Everyone loves getting their baby fix or baby cuddles from Blakesley.  And she loves the attention!  However, I've noticed that lately she is starting to freak out a little sometimes when a stranger is talking to her or looking at her for too long.  Or, she realizes when I walk I away or hand her off to someone and starts crying.  She is such a Mommy's girl and gets so excited when I am near!  Daddy still gets up to change her diaper in the middle of the night (thank you Marcus!!) and he tells me that she cranks her neck behind the changing table and waits for me to walk in the door to nurse her.  If I stay in bed she is sad I don't come to the nursery, and then Daddy brings her back to the bedroom so I can feed her.  I either forget that she is up and fall back asleep ( oops! ) or I am too tired for a feeding sitting up, so she nurses laying down while I sleep.  With that being said, we have not even tried any more bottles.  With the chaos of the house reconstruction and the holidays, I have had literally zero time to pump and it's been easier to just nurse her since she is with me 24/7.  The goal for the new year is to try bottles.  I won a weekend trip for February with my business and would really love to be able to go on it.  Stay tuned!

Blakesley still goes to bed at 6:00 or 6:30 PM.  She is up once, sometimes twice to eat.  The 1st time is sometime after midnite, and then the 2nd time is usually 5 or 530 which technically isn't the middle of the night.  She always falls right back asleep at 5:30 too.  If we are home she will take 3 solid naps in her moses basket, in the morning, around 12:30 and then late afternoon at 4:00.  She loves her naps in her basket if we are home.  She is still in a zip up sleep sack - the Woombie Air that she absolutely loves.  It's like a swaddle with their arms tucked in, but a super easy sack to just zip the baby up in with one quick zip.  She uses it for every nap she's home in and at night.

Blakesley can roll both ways, but is way better at rolling from her stomach to her back.  She loves playing and doing tummy time and her sisters are always willing to entertain her. She loves to play with them.  In fact, her sisters are both little Mommies, so technically there are 3 Mommies in our house!  Every day they fight over who gets to hold her, who gets to play with her, who gets to help me.  It's super sweet.

I was a little sad to say goodbye to 2016 since it was the year Blakesley was born.

Trip to Kohler

I love her little tummy.  She is starting to get the chunky little baby rolls of fat.  This picture was taken during a Christmas caroling hour at the American Club in Kohler.  It was super loud but B fell right asleep in Daddy's lap!

Blakesley has the funniest little personality.  When she wakes up from her naps or in the middle of the night, she does not cry, but rather she sings.  It's almost like a sing and a yell.  It's the LOUDEST sound when you are dead asleep in the middle of the night and she starts doing it.  Her basket is right next to my side of the bed.  She also sings herself to sleep sometimes before her naps.  She is getting to the point where it is hard for her to fall asleep without being in her basket.  She is SO alert ( exact same as she was when she was born! )

Those big blue eyes!
I love this stage because she is super sweet and cuddly, isn't mobile, not eating the baby food mess yet, and very portable.  My heart could burst I love this little nugget so very much!
