Life at Home with Cora. . .

We have been home now for two and a half days with Cora and things are definitely a lot different.  We are so blessed and excited to start this new chapter in our lives, but WOW, two kids is a LOT of work!  I know things will get better once I am healed and back to functioning at 100%, but still, it has been challenging for sure.  Marcus has been so helpful while he is off work, especially with taking care of all the house work and most importantly, Sonoma.  Daddy is Sonoma's new buddy and they have had a good time together.  They have made trips to the store, the playground, gone on walks and spent extra special time playing together.  I'm not allowed to lift Sonoma for two weeks, nor drive, and I'm supposed to take it easy until I heal.  A LOT easier said than done.  I hate feeling so helpless.

Marcus dropped me and Cora off at Cora's doctor's appointment this morning.  The doctor was very pleased with Cora and assured us that she is healthy and getting along just great.  She has already gained an ounce back since leaving the hospital, so that was good news.  She weighed 6.9 at birth, left the hospital at 6.2 and was up to 6.3 today.  Cora has been great at eating and our days have been very pleasant.  The past two nights have been very rough, but of course we knew this was coming!  She does not enjoy sleeping in her bassinet at night, nor sleeping at night!  She is still sleeping all day and has her schedule backwards, but hopefully that will get better in a couple of weeks.  I am SO thankful that I let Sonoma spend both nights in the nursery while we stayed in the hospital.  I was at least able to get 2-3 hours of un-interrupted sleep both nights and the nurses wheeled Cora in for every feeding.  It's only been two years, but I forgot how hard and lonely those 2 am feedings are!  Marcus has been so helpful, being on diaper duty all night, and he even rocked Cora in her rocking chair for a couple of hours last night so I could catch some sleep.

Sonoma had a blast at the park today with Daddy!

Wheeeee!
After Cora's doctor's appointment, we had our first family outing at Starbucks.  Sonoma is always in her happy place when she is at Starbucks, so she sure was excited.

We gave Cora her first bath at home last night.  I remember how scared we were bathing Sonoma for the first time.  It was a little easier this time around!

OK this face has GOT to stop.  Oh, and the gash on her forehead is from running into our baby gate minutes before we left for the hospital on Friday.

We forgot all about tummy time!  We started that yesterday and of course, Cora hates it right now!  HOWEVER, she rolled over TWICE today!   (from front to back)  We couldn't believe it!
