Special Sunday Arrival

This was our first free weekend in quite a while and even though I haven't been able to leave the house or do anything, I'd still say it's been a good weekend for everyone else. We had the Bertsch family over yesterday for lunch and a play date and it was fun watching Kennedy and Sonoma have such a great time together. Marcus has been super productive with running all my errands for me (thanks, honey!) and also with cleaning the house.

This morning was quite an exciting one at our house --- ELF ON THE SHELF arrived!! Sonoma knew earlier this week that Santa would be sending down an Elf to keep an eye on her soon. She just didn't know when. Sonoma came downstairs this morning for breakfast and much to her surprise, the Elf had arrived and came with a book. We read the book and learned all about the Elf and how he was going to arrive every morning to watch Sonoma, then fly back to the North Pole every night to give Santa a report. Sonoma named the Elf "Pizza." Let the fun begin for the Fischer family! I know this holiday season will be extra special with Sonoma being at such a great age, and also with celebrating our first Christmas in our new house. And don't worry, we haven't completely skipped over Thanksgiving. I took Sonoma to the bookstore and we bought a couple Thanksgiving books to learn about the holiday and we also set up her Thanksgiving Little People set. Every time we talk about our Thanksgiving plans and the meal, she responds with, "Mommy that's WAY too much food! Too much!" Isn't that the truth :)

Marcus and Sonoma had swimming today. Such a nice Sunday.
