Weaning

Nobody told me how hard pacifier weaning is!  And we aren't even taking it away at night yet.  I don't care about that.  I just don't want Cora walking around with her pacifier anymore during the day.  And I thought bottle weaning or breastfeeding weaning was bad?  AHH, this is AWFUL!  Poor Cora knows where all the pacis are, and after every meal she starts making her sucking noise and then screaming, crying, and now throwing horrific tantrums.  We tried to do this a few weeks ago, and then she got sick and we felt bad, and then she started getting molars and we felt bad, and so on and so on.  My Mom said there will NEVER be a good time, so we got down to business this week.  We hide them in the pantry downstairs, and hide them in her crib upstairs.  And y'all know how much this little girl loves her sleep.  Well, now she's even MORE excited for sleep (how is that possible?!)  because she gets to be reunited with her pacis!  HA!  So, the picture above and below -- I found Cora in her room, sucking on her BABY DOLL's paci a couple of days ago.  I guess I have to hide those too?

Cora climbed up on to Sonoma's lap the other day to watch a movie.  So snuggly.

In other news, Cora is making some good progress in other departments.  I usually take the girls to the gym twice a week together to the daycare.  I decided it was time that Cora go to the gym by herself since she is so dependent upon Sonoma.  Plus, Sonoma was already in PDO by herself at this age.  So, this week, I took Cora to the gym both Tuesday and Thursday, so I could do a few different group exercises classes and she did pretty good.  She fussed a little at the beginning both times, but each time I picked her up, she was in good spirits.  I took Cora to her first lapsit library story time today.  Siblings are welcome to this one, so Sonoma came, even though it is geared towards 0-24 months.  Cora had a great time and met a little friend she played with after, while Sonoma checked out her library books.  It was a balmy 36 today, so we went to the Outlet mall to hit the big Gap sale, and then the girls rode some awesome mall rides.

First mall ride for Cora!

Sticker fun!
