October Updates!

Kindergarten 2015 School Picture

Sonoma:  We had our very first parent - teacher conference last night and it went very well.  It reminded me exactly of my conference last year with her Preschool teacher.  Her teacher said that Sonoma is a superstar student, way ahead in many different areas including reading and math, and that she is a huge leader.  She said how much she loves Sonoma and how everyone loves her too.  It made us feel really, really good.  We were candid with her teacher and said we were having some behavior issues with her at home, and she was honestly shocked!!  She also had some good ideas that she is going to assist us with in regards to a good behavior system at home.  Overall, Marcus and I were very proud of what we heard last night.

Sonoma continues to be make huge strides in her gymnastics team, and is doing a great job of keeping up with all of the other older girls.  I am more and more impressed each time I can stay and watch a little.

Sonoma is currently on Ginny's website for their new toy catalog!  The actual hard copy catalog comes out in the mail next month.  She sure was excited to see her picture up online!  She got called to do a print catalog for Land of Nod a few weeks ago, but it was unfortunately when my Grandma passed away and I was out of town, so we had to cancel.  Hopefully something else comes up again soon!  She is always asking when she gets to model next, and it has given her a great deal of confidence!

I love finding hundreds of selfies on my camera roll :-p
Cora:
Cora is a joy to have with me during the days when it is just the two of us!!  She is getting better at running errands and going to the store and begs to not ride in any store carts.  We have a great schedule down pat that includes PDO twice a week, dance and swimming.  She loves making lunch with me when we are home and ALWAYS makes me laugh! Cora talks non stop and asks questions about everything.  She wants to know where everything is made or bought and where we got it, and who sings every song on the radio.  She is at such a cute, fun stage!  We recently started working more on writing and letters, as I feared I haven't been spending too much time with her on any of that stuff.  She loves to color, write and draw and takes after her big sister.  She has been very flexible and goes down earlier for a nap on the three days a week she doesn't have PDO.  She loves her ballet and tap class.  Although she still will cry occasional if she doesn't get the purple crown or wand when they get out their little props at class.  We talk about it every week ( "you get what you get and you don't throw a fit!")

I'm proud of my girls and love them so much! It's hard to believe Sonoma will be 5 and a half this month and I still can't believe Cora is a 3 year old.
