We took a three day long weekend trip to the Wisconsin Dells last weekend and had such a great time! It was the perfect way to break up winter, and give the girls a small taste of summer fun for a cold weekend away! We have talked about going to the Dells for a few years now, so I'm glad we finally made the plan and did it! We had such a great time that we cannot wait to go back. I'm hoping to make it an annual tradition! Especially, because I am dying to go back when I am able to enjoy the slides as well as the drinks! ;) On a sidenote, the people watching was awesome. I can't tell you how many parents are running around with the 80 oz margaritas playing in the water with their kids. A little scary, but entertaining for sure!

| Just about a 3 hour car ride. Not bad at all |
We arrived around lunchtime and checked in and got all of our info for our resort, The Wilderness Hotel and Golf Resort, America's largest waterpark resort! We ate lunch at Survivor's Bar and Grill, which looked out over the Water Dome's water park wave pool. It was fun to get a look at everything while we ate.
As soon as lunch was over, the girls wanted to start out at the Water Dome where we watched everyone during lunch! Our room wasn't ready yet, so we changed and rented lockers and went straight for the wave pool!
| The wave pool was crazy exhausting, and I just kept watching Cora drink the water. I was so tired, I had to sit most of this one out. |
| Yum, the smoothies were so good. I am craving another one of these so bad today!! |
| There were two different rafting slides at the Water Dome and Cora and Sonoma each went down both of them with Daddy. No fear at all!! |
Later on that day we met up with the Greens! We were so excited that one of our best family friends planned a Dells trip the SAME weekend as us! The kids were thrilled, especially Sonoma and Charlotte. We met up at the Wild Water Dome, and then spent the rest of the afternoon at the Klondike Kavern waterpark.
| The 4 big kids having a blast together! |
We were going to meet the Greens out at the Klondike Pizza Kitchen for pizza, but we were all SO exhausted and hadn't checked in our room yet. We walked for what seemed like miles to our end of the resort, and crashed into our beds. We decided to have the Pizza delivered right to our room, and then went to bed at 7:00. The girls don't share beds that often, which maybe we need to work on more, so it took them almost an hour to settle down and get to sleep. Everyone slept fairly well, but poor Cora woke up with a soaked pull up and a soaked bed. She hasn't had a wet pull-up in SO long, and we are all convinced she really did drink a ton of pool water and that was why!
Friday night it started snowing a lot, and we watched it fall down outside our balcony onto one of their outdoor waterparks. We also thought it was so cool to watch people in the outdoor hot tubs playing basketball and hanging out while the snow came down on top of them.
Since we woke up nice and early on Saturday morning, way before any of the water parks, opened, we decided to meet up in the arcade and play area with the Greens for some early morning fun. I think Daddy had just as much fun as the kiddos!
From our hotel room ( we were in the Wild West building, on the 2nd floor with a pool view, we could see the indoor ropes course. Sonoma kept talking about how much she wanted to do it. She was too young to go alone ( 3 inches shy of 48"!) so Marcus had to go with her. We paid, she got all suited up and then freaked out and cried that she didn't want to go. After some gentle encouraging from a female worker who was out on the tight ropes, she agreed to give it a go, and rocked it!
| Marcus took off and it scared the crap out of me. |
| And, then, Sonoma got super brave! |
Cora had to be patient over the weekend and learned that she is not nearly as tall as her sister to do a lot of the big kid stuff. I tried to do other special stuff with Cora, like scope out all of the smashed penny machines for our collection!
After the ropes course, Daddy took Cora on the bumper boats! Another fun activity that Mommy had to sit out for!
| And, then, Sonoma got a turn |
There were so many waterparks and activities for ALL ages. Babies through adults. After the parks opened on Saturday, we spent the whole day at the Wild West Waterpark!! It was pretty hard to keep an eye on the kids, but Charlotte and Sonoma did a great job of staying together and then a pretty good job of keeping an eye on Cora. They would go down all the slides so fast, and then run right back up to the top.
| These girls are two peas in a pod! |
| We took a lunch break at the Thirsty Buffalo Saloon and rested. |
| Cora loved these big orange and blue slides. I was pretty shocked how many times she went down them and how brave she was! |
| 18 weeks! |
| This bucket dumps 1000 gallons of water every few minutes. Look out! |
Marcus and Matt decided to head on some adult slides and I was left to watch the three girls while Sarah was back in the room with her boys napping. I'm glad the Daddies had so much fun together!! Next year I get a turn! :)
| While Daddy and Matt took Sonoma and Charlotte on some big slides, I took Cora to the candy shop and stocked up! |
Saturday night we went out to Buffalo Phil's restaurant with the Greens. It was a really fun western them restaurant where all of the food and drinks are delivered on electric trains. The kids got a real kick out of it!
| Table for 9! |
Saturday night the girls PASSED out and were exhausted. They slept in until after 7:00, which was amazing, And, they snuggled all night which was so cute. Saturday was a much better night for everyone! |
On Sunday, we headed out to just one more water park. We let the girls pick and they wanted to go back to the Wild Water Dome because they loved the wave pool so much.
After we checked out on Sunday, we drove to the "Cheez Factory" across the street after reading some great reviews. I was also craving cheese. Come to find out, it's a 100% vegan restaurant with no cheese, LOL! We did have some delicious pancakes and fruit though!
| On the way home, Marcus luckily found a cheese shop for me! |
| Sonoma fell asleep on the way home. And, Cora was in bed that night at 6:00 pm. |
