Sonoma's 1st Gymnastics Meet

Sonoma's 1st real gymnastics meet was on Saturday in Itasca for the Itasca Valentine's Invitational.  She was very nervous and anxious all week!  Sonoma worked hard all week at practice, eating healthy and getting lots of rest for Saturday!

Sonoma with her friend Zoe, on her gymnastics team.  Sonoma and Zoe are the youngest and both go to the same school.  Zoe's birthday was actually on Saturday!

When all the teams did the march out and lined up, Sonoma marched out with the sign for her gym! She got to hold it during the National Anthem

It was a LONG day for Blakesley.  We left at 10:00 am and didn't get home until after dinner at 7:00 pm!

Long day for Miss Cora too.  She and Daddy arrived right in time for warm-ups at 12:00 noon.  She was very good all day watching her sister and playing on her iPad.  She even took some videos of Sonoma and cheered her on.

Sonoma warming up.
It was extremely crowded and very hard to get any good photos or videos during the meet.  Sonoma competed all four events in Level 4 and did very well.  I think the nerves are out of the way now that the first meet is over!  Sonoma placed 3rd all around in her age and level.  Since there were no other 6 year olds, she competed in the Level 4 7/8 year old division.

She was so proud of her medal and ribbons and certificate!

Zoe got 4th place all around

We went out to eat at a new restaurant, Spartan House, after the meet to celebrate!
We were all so excited:  Mimi came into town for the weekend and for Sonoma's 1st meet.  It was very special to have her there cheering on Sonoma.
