While Marcus was away, my Mom surprised me on Thursday night and said she was coming up to help me and keep us company! I really appreciated that, and Sonoma was of course, thrilled to see Mimi!

We are so thankful that our home was not affected by the horrible flooding up here in Chicagoland last week. So many of my friends up here are dealing with flooded homes and terrible damage. We are so very lucky. We have also been in our home a little over a year now! It's so hard to believe that it has been over a year since we finished our home and moved in. Our daffodils that we planted last fall started to bloom this week. I guess those April showers really are bringing us May flowers :)
Sonoma has QUITE the imagination these days. She has three invisible friends: Pico, Marin & Grandma
( not to be confused with her real Grandma ). She hangs out with her three friends, who follow us around and play with us. Pico was even lost for a while after Easter, but she found him. It's sort of creepy when I accidentally wake up an imaginary friend, or leave him out of a game we are playing..... It's really been amazing to see her imagination work in the most creative ways as of recently. She configured her whole room into a jungle today - she built a mountain out of animals, lion footprints out of mirrors and combs and brushes, stepping stones over water with books, and she even built her own laundry room in her closet! It's just awesome to watch her play. The independent play at home has been super creative and wonderful.
