Happy Birthday, America! We sure are proud to be Americans! We had a wonderful 4th of July full of festivities!
We kicked off the long holiday weekend with our annual trip to the ballpark with friends to watch the Kane County Cougars! We met the Greens, Potereks, and our good friends from 8 years ago, the Strickers moved back into the area last week and came out to the game with their kids! We also ran into our friend Amanda and her kids. So fun!

On Saturday morning I went to breakfast in Geneva with my good friends Sarah and Christin to celebrate Baby! They were so sweet and gave me a gift card to use for the baby. I can't wait to go shopping! The girls slept in until after 9 and I came home to everyone washing my minivan! Great surprise!

We took the girls to the movies on Sunday to see Finding Dory. It was such an adorable movie. We all really enjoyed it. The girls got the special "Fishbowl drink" that had a swedish fish in the bottom of the jar. Sonoma loved hers.
Cora - not so much
We took lots of bike rides, walks and played outside over the weekend.

Sunday was quite eventful after the movie. We ended up losing power in our neighborhood (a power line pole fell ) and we were without power all Sunday night and through Monday morning. We decided to venture out to the Wheaton fireworks that evening to get out of the hot house for a while. We had a BLAST at the fireworks and they were so easy to get to and get out of. The girls enjoyed staying up late but were very tired. It was a very long night for us all. Our girls are used to fans, sound machines and night lights at night, so they had a tough time falling asleep. Luckily they have been awesome at sleeping in late all summer!
After sleeping in on Monday morning, we rushed to downtown Aurora to make it just in time for the start of the parade! We met the Potereks and Strickers and the kids were thoroughly entertained! They got LOADS of candy! It was so cool outside, we couldn't even believe it was actually July. Sure didn't feel like it but I was definitely not complaining.
After the parade we went over to Amanda's house for a cookout! It was a great evening!
Sonoma noticed my rose bush was dying and so she cut me one of my last blooms and put it in a vase with a bracelet she made around it! So sweet!
Surprisingly, Marcus had Tuesday off of work so we had an extra long holiday weekend! Grandma and T arrived on Tuesday afternoon after a vacation up in Canada, so it was fun to have family in town! We all went out to dinner at Two Brothers' Roundhouse and then to Oberweis to celebrate Grandma's birthday!
Banana Split! Sonoma has been asking for one! The three of them couldn't even finish it!
