Farewell, Chicago!

We had been wanting to take the girls downtown for a classic Chicago city weekend.  We were originally planning on doing it in June, but Mother's Day weekend turned out to be such beautiful weather, that we decided on a whim we better head to the city and take advantage.

The girls kept seeing commercials for the Willis Tower sky deck, and we had never taken them there, so that was first on our bucket list of things to do in Chicago before we move.

Chicago is such an incredible, beautiful city and we wanted the girls to have some wonderful memories of it.

We had goals to do handstands in the Sky Deck.  Mission accomplished!

It was very scary!!

Found a penny machine....thought of Pa.....and the girls got their pennies made for their collector books!

Blakesley will never remember this, but at least we have the pictures to show her some day.

We had deep dish pizza for lunch and it was DELICIOUS.  Even Blakesley loved it.

After the Willis Tower and lunch, we went to Navy Pier to ride the new Ferris Wheel.  I must admit, I was nervous taking the baby, but it ended up being fine.  ( except when Cora tried to rock the ferris wheel car from all her moving around! )

Rolling Stones exhibit on the pier!

I hope Sonoma and Cora remember how amazing Chicago is.
After an afternoon at Navy Pier, we went to the Art Institute to look at our favorite paintings and the Miniature Rooms that we love.  We wanted to utilize our membership.

We had a nice walk in Millenium Park and saw "the bean"  aka cloudgate.

Goodness, I will miss Chicago so very much, but I know that this city will always have a piece of my heart.  Marcus and I already have a trip planned to come back in September for the Windy City Wine Festival, and we would like to let the girls' continue their tradition of The Walnut Room and Santa at Macy's every Christmas.
