Life Lately

On Tuesday I turned 34.  I wasn't thrilled about my birthday this year, since this was my first birthday without my Dad.  I knew I would miss his 5 AM text followed by a throwback picture of me on his Facebook.  I was really happy that his brother, my Uncle Jim, sent me a 5 AM birthday text.  Made my morning a little brighter.  After I dropped the girls at the bus, Blakesley and I went on a 3.4 mile run in honor of my new age.  I also did 34 push-ups, 34 dips and 34 lunges.

I then took Blakesley to the doctor to meet her new Pediatrician, and get her 12 month shots.  Poor thing was miserable, which made me feel miserable for her!  Marcus was sweet and met us after for an impromptu brunch at one of my new favorite spots, Cafe Patachou in Clay Terrace.

I took some incredible coconut cake home to eat in peace and quiet during nap time.

The girls were so sweet to give me a beautiful card and Marcus got me flowers and a couple of real nice gifts.

I love these old pictures my Mom found of me and Dad on the day I was born.  I thought of my Dad the whole day.

I was happy to find Blakesley's 2nd ad that she modeled for online last week!  I remembered she really loved the toy, and I wanted the box as a keepsake, so I ordered it from Amazon.

Sonoma had her first homework assignment which she worked really hard on.  I love seeing what she says on assignments like this!

She picked the pictures! :)

I just love watching these girls walk to and from the bus together!

Blakesley is obsessed with her new shoes that my friend Erin gave to her.  She loves them so much!

Blakesley went on her first wagon ride and loved it!

We went to Urban Vines, the winery right by us, and had a fun time wine tasting! I love that it is kid friendly and they have a playground and live music outside for the kiddos!

In other not so great news, we found out a few weeks ago that our foundation in our house is leaking.  It was very disappointing to find out, considering the house is only 2 years old.  I was finally feeling settled and organized, and it was right at that point when we found out about the leak.  We had the crack in our foundation repaired  ( which unfortunately happens to be downstairs in the girls' playroom in the basement ), and then we had it re-drywalled, re-painted, and next up is all new carpet.  I am so glad that everything is covered in our structural warranty, but I am so sick of all the workers in and out of our house.  It definitely could be worse, so I am grateful for that, but  I still can't wait for the girls to have their playroom back again.  So, the house projects continue on.......

That's life lately for the Fischer family!  Summer is flying by!
