Summer of Sonoma

It's safe to say we have dedicated this summer to being all about Sonoma.  I've been trying to cram in as many fun activities with her as I possibly ( and physically! ) can before Baby #2 arrives.  We finally made it to the zoo and it made my day to see such a big smile on Sonoma's face. She loves animals and really enjoyed finding as many of her favorite friends as possible.  She was, however, very disappointed that the Brookfield Zoo did not have any elephants.  They are due to arrive sometime in the "near future."  Sonoma loved seeing the dolphin show, the Stingray Bay, the Giraffes, the Monkeys and the Bears.  It was a fun day for all of us!

She brought along one of her favorite monkeys

We loved the monkey house!

We can't walk by a carousel without riding one

Dolphin Show!

You could pet stingrays!  Sonoma and I were too scared, so we let Daddy do it.

Sonoma spends lots of time playing dress up these days.  Most of the time she insists on piling all of the dress up clothes on top of one another:

This outfit looks much better :)  Snow White!
When we are indoors and Sonoma is not playing dress up, she is usually playing (aka tormenting) with Dixie.  We are trying to teach Sonoma to be nicer to Dixie, but she usually just wants to take all of her toys and run away with them and hide them.  I hope she doesn't treat Baby Sissy like this!  Poor Dixie is such a trooper.  I couldn't find Sonoma and Dixie the other day and they were being way too quiet for me, so I knew something was up.  Sonoma was strategically placing stickers all over Dixie and Dixie was just sitting there, not moving a muscle.

We have enjoyed yet another relaxing weekend at home with our normal weekend activities.    Sonoma had one of our new babysitters for the first time Friday night and she did AWESOME.  When the babysitter texted me back and said "Sonoma is such a great listener and went to bed so easily," I thought she was being sarcastic!  The next morning Sonoma asked if the sitter was coming again :)

I've been cooking as much as I possibly can and freezing some of our favorite meals.  I know once Baby Sissy arrives, we will be glad to have some meals that will be all ready to go. My nesting mode has definitely set in and I'm finding new things to do and organize every single day.  I haven't been able to sleep much lately, as I wake up every night to a dancing, poking, non-stop moving Baby, as well as some pretty awful hip pain.  I've still been working out when I can and trying to get some energy that way.  I did the elliptical and bike today while Marcus and Sonoma swam.  I did a long walk with Sonoma yesterday.  Shouldn't be too much longer ;)
