The End of July

It's hard to believe that July is just about over.  We had a really busy week and are now enjoying our last weekend in July.  Sonoma had her last summer camp at PDO this week and we were all very sad that it ended.  It was really hard on me, because I had to make the difficult decision to switch PDOs for next year.  We LOVE Sonoma's current PDO in Naperville, but the drive is just way too far since we moved into our new house.  And once I have the newborn, I didn't want to spend so much time in the car, and I know it will be nice to be able to go grocery shopping and then go home if I need to.  We found a new PDO near our house, and it is very similar to the other one.  One of Sonoma's good friends even signed up too, so we are looking forward to another familiar face.  I'm sure we will love it just as much and I know Sonoma will make more great friends at her new PDO.

The day before her last day of "Under the Sea" camp, Mimi and Pa came to visit!  They had been vacation in New Buffalo to celebrate their anniversary, and stopped to stay the night with us on their way back home.  Sonoma and I met them at Oakbrook for shopping and lunch, and then we all had dinner at our house, and went out to Oberweis for a special treat afterwards.

It's always like Christmas morning when the Grandparents visit.  Sonoma got lots of new presents, including this cute ice cream set!

Sonoma and Pa found this bug.  I think it is a Praying Mantis

After a tearful goodbye to Mimi and Pa and then another sad goodbye to our teachers and friends at PDO, Sonoma was excited to have even MORE visitors on Friday!  Krista and her boyfriend, Jake, are spending the weekend in Chicago, so they stopped by our house on Friday for dinner and to spend the night with us.  Sonoma LOVES when people come to play with her and she had the best time showing off all her toys.

Soso loves her Auntie K

And she also loves to make this face!

Daddy moved into his new office building this week, which is now at the John Hancock Center!

This morning we went to the Geneva Art Festival.  One of our favorite artists, Steve Ward, had a booth at the festival and we were anxious to see some of his new work, and I hadn't met him yet in person.  We had a great time strolling downtown and Sonoma enjoyed the kids' craft area.
