We had a really fun family weekend all planned out, but it turned into a Daddy and Sonoma weekend. Which, turned out to be wonderful for Sonoma, but I was bummed I missed out on some great activities. I'm still at home resting and recovering, and actually had to go back to the doctor to get my antibiotic switched. For some reason I still wasn't getting better, so last night I started a new antibiotic. Fingers crossed this works so I can FINALLY feel like myself again and focus on the rest of my pregnancy/delivery recovery.
Anyways, Daddy has been such a SUPER DAD lately, picking up all of my "Mommy Duties," while still doing the crazy amount of chores around our house that he normally does, working very hard at his OWN job, and continuing to pay extra special attention to Sonoma. I am not sure how he does all of this WITHOUT coffee! Who doesn't drink coffee in the morning?! Insane! I thought Marcus deserved an extra special blog shout-out and a great big THANK YOU from me. I know he did not sign up to take over laundry, Target runs, grocery shopping, cooking, dressing and getting a 2 year old ready, all while taking care of a dog , a sick wife and a house that takes up a lot of time and energy caring for! However, he does it so well and he is still getting up in the middle of the night with me and Cora. LOVE YOU DADDY!
You will have to personally talk to Marcus about his experience with Sonoma on Friday night at Sonoma's first football game! He came home with so many stories that had me on the ground laughing. It was POURING rain, but we had talked about the game a week before it happened and Sonoma was dead set on going no matter what the weather conditions were. She gladly pulled out her rain boots, rain coat, blankets, umbrella and couldn't get out of the house fast enough with Daddy! Little did Daddy know, he would be trying to carry an umbrella, a blanket, and chase a toddler jumping through rain puddles whose boots were a little too big and kept falling off! He also had an epic potty adventure. Can you believe he took this little girl into a PORT-A-POTTY?? Now, do you think she actually went? Um, definitely not. She told him it smelled like trash and she cried for him to open the door. That a girl, don't EVER use those things. The next bathroom was locked, the final bathroom was on the other side of the school....and when she finally sat down, well, she didn't have to go anymore. HAHAHA!
She was wondering where the cheerleaders were! But they did finally come out and she also saw the band!
They ate tons of healthy concession stand food
Before the game in dryer conditions
Sweet little pumpkin
On Saturday, The DuPage Childrens' Museum was having a photo shoot that we signed up for Sonoma to attend. They were trying to capture shots for their new promotional material. Sonoma had no trouble finding the photographer and cheesing it up for the camera.
And finally, HAPPY FALL to everyone! ( officially! )
