My darling, Cora! How are you TWO and a HALF? The time with you has flown by even faster since you are the 2nd baby. Here's what you have been up to lately:
-You go to PDO twice a week and are really excelling there. You love your teachers, your friends and the structure of your day. You especially love doing crafts and your fine motor skills are amazing at this point!
-You love puzzles. You do puzzles all day long. It's your favorite thing right now.
-You love carrying around purses, bags and backpacks filled with all sorts of goodies. Pretend make-up, money, phones, blankets, stuffed animals, you name it. You don't go anywhere or to a new room unless you are hauling your bags around. You're a tiny bag lady. :)
-You love to sing and dance. You love to sing "Old MacDonald," "Where is Thumbkin," "ABCs," "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," the songs you learn at PDO and any song from "Frozen."
-You are always dressed up in a costume! Minnie Mouse, Elsa, Anna, Princess Aurora, Barbie Mermaid, someone different every day! Even after we get dressed in the morning, you immediately run to the dress up box and put something on over your regular clothes.
-You love taking care of your babies and playing Mommy to them, as well as playing Little People, My Little Ponies, and Grocery Store with Sonoma.
-You love to read books. You love it when your sister reads you books.
-You are starting to get very particular about picking out your clothes. You want to wear dresses every day, and you always have a headband or crown in your hair.
-Coffee the pink mouse is still your best friend, your lovie, and you hate being away from him.
-You still use a pacifier at naptime and bedtime.
-You continue to be a wonderful eater. You love meat, fruit, yogurt and especially salads.
-You can count to 12.
-We started potty training in November, but regressed a little with the holidays and all of the excitement. Once Christmas was over and we were stuck inside due to all the snow storms and sub zero temps, we focused hard on potty training and you mastered it! You still wear your pull-up at nap and bedtime, but you do great during the day! So proud of you!
Funny phrases/things you say all the time:
-"Mommy, watch my moves!" ( when you are dancing )
-"Mommy, I so tie-reed" (tired). Cora, you still love your sleep. Probably always will. You nap around 2-3 hours a day and sleep almost 12 hours a night.
-"Mommy, me want snack."
-"Mommy, me do self."
-"Mommy, snuggle me on couch."
-"Mommy, me play tu-tus???"
- "Yestertime...." Whenever you talk about something that happened in the past or yesterday, you start off by saying "Yestertime..."
Cora, you are such a confident, smart, sweet, brave, thoughtful little girl. You always ask about how others are doing. Anytime Daddy comes home from work, you ask him all about how his day was. Or, if I was out with friends the night before, when you wake up in the morning you ask, "Mommy, how was your night?" When I pick you up from PDO you always ask me, "Mommy, how was your day? What did you do?" You care so much about others and their feelings. Happy half birthday, Cora Brighton! I am so looking forward to what the next 6 months will bring and I love watching you grow.
xoxo
Mommy
