We kicked off our weekend on Friday by having Marcus' parents come up to stay with us. They arrived Friday morning and spent the day playing with the girls and giving them all sorts of sweet gifts. We had planned to go out to dinner, but because of the freezing temps, we decided to order in. Then, I had Bunco Friday night. It was an "Oscars" theme which was super cute and fun!
Grandma and T stayed at home Saturday with the girls so Marcus and I could attend our friends' baby shower in the city, and then have a fun date night out and stay downtown.
We had the BEST time together. I can't remember the last time we got a hotel together downtown, just the 2 of us. We used to do it a lot, and I forgot how much fun we have together in the city! We scored a free hotel room AND free parking from a dear friend, and we were so thankful!

Sonoma of course insisted on a photo shoot before we left in the morning.

Isn't she the cutest pregnant lady? Erin looked amazing and her shower was a beautiful brunch at Fennel & Iris. We all enjoyed celebrating baby Violet, due to arrive late April.

I was so excited to explore Eataly once we checked into our hotel. It recently opened in Chicago and is such an amazing Italian experience! I could spend all day shopping and eating there. We had delicious Italian coffee/hot chocolates in the afternoon.

We continue to hear the buzz about Shake Shack, so we decided to stop and get burgers and fries and had a fun time. I LOVED the fries, and the burger was great too! Cool atmosphere and great location. But, I still love my Windycity burger at Smashburger.

Marcus said he would take the obligatory selfie with me at the "bean." It was a lovely evening to walk through Millenium Park and take in the city skyline.
It was really cold, but still so pretty. I love being downtown.
We had a glass of wine at The Gage, and then had reservations to meet up with some friends later for dessert, but the restaurant was running behind on our table, and we were pretty exhausted from a long day, so called it a night!

We had to go back and have breakfast at Eataly. It was delicious!
The girls had so much fun with Grandma and T, and even worked on some Easter crafts! They were so cute.
It was such a wonderful, memorable weekend and I hope y'all had great weekends too. We are ready to take on our last week of the month! Can't say we are sad to say goodbye to February!
