Sonoma celebrated her birthday with friends on Saturday, by hosting her first drop-off party! The theme was a doll tea party and it sure was lovely! She had her friends Kayla, Harper, Fifi, Elle, Nora, Lyla and her sister Cora in attendance. The weather was calling for 100% rain, so unfortunately we weren't able to be outside, as we had planned. That was okay though, because we used the garage for craft time and for a couple of games. My parents drove up that morning, along with my sister, and I couldn't have done the party without their help! My Mom and Sister helped out a ton and we were exhausted when it was over! 8 little girls are a lot of work! Sonoma had such a great time and she was super happy and in the best mood all day long.
The girls brought their favorite doll and wore their favorite dress. We played musical chairs, bean bag toss, the Freeze Dance, and did a lot of other dances including the Chicken Dance and the Hokey Pokey. These little girls loved to dance! We had a photo wall for the girls to take pictures with some fun tea party props, and then they decorated tote bags for their dolls. We had the formal tea party in our dining room with pink lemonade, tea treats, fruit, veggies, and cake.

Sonoma designed her own birthday cake! She was very specific! She also picked out everything - table cloth, flowers and decorations. She is an excellent party planner!

I remember a friend of mine telling me that little girls love watching other girls open gifts. Oh my gosh - they practically sat on top of Sonoma! It was so cute. She kept saying, "guys, scoot back!"
After a busy afternoon and a quick nap for Cora, we went out to dinner (Sonoma's choice) at Buffalo Wild Wings and then to Oberweis for dessert. Mimi & Pa's treat. Thank you so much! It was a great birthday celebration. Just two more days until the real deal! Cora said today, "Sonoma's birthday over." I said, "No, her real birthday is in two days." Cora replied, "Sonoma's having MORE birthday??" HAHA, the never ending celebration for our special 5 year old!
