Summer Indiana Trip {Part 1}

Last weekend we took a long weekend family trip with my side of the family.  Then, the girls' extended their trip by staying with the Grandparents for 4 more days in Indiana.  It was a perfect little summer vacation and get-away!

#roadtrip
 We started out our trip with a visit to one of Indiana's State Parks, McCormick's Creek.  June 4th would have been my Grandparents' 66th Wedding Anniversary.  Every year on their anniversary, Grandma and Grandpa would have lunch at McCormick's Creek, the same place they stayed the night of their wedding before their honeymoon.  This year, Grandpa suggested that the whole family go to lunch with him since it was his first anniversary alone.

We spent the night at my Parents' house.  Wilbur just LOVES Marcus!

Most of the family was able to make it!
 On Sunday morning we headed down to Santa Claus, Indiana to take the girls to their 1st amusement park - Holiday World!  Thank you so much, Mimi and Pa, for a WONDERFUL little Summer vacation!  We all had fun and have lots of memories to cherish :)

 The girls both LOVED riding rides!!  Sonoma was such a daredevil and was really upset she couldn't go on the big coasters.  There were quite a few rides that Cora was able to ride for the 36" and up requirement.  Sonoma was able to go on a lot more since she was over 42."  She LOVED the "Round Up,"  - the scary ride that you stand up on and it spins practically upside down.  I about had a heart attack watching her on it.  Cora couldn't wait to do the log ride but ran off of it crying that her tummy hurt so bad!!  HA!

Found a penny machine for their collections!

They won their first prizes at a game!

I can't even believe Sonoma did this!

After a fun day at Holiday World we drove to French Lick, where we stayed at the French Lick Resort.  We absolutely loved it and cannot wait to go back again!  So beautiful and very kid friendly!

We took a shuttle over to West Baden for the morning

Thank you Mimi and Pa for a GREAT trip!
