Blakesley is such a sweet baby. We are getting to know her little personality and she makes us all smile! Blakesley loves to be held, especially when she sleeps during the day. She prefers to take a nap in someone's arms or on my chest. I know how quickly this precious time goes by, so I am taking it all in and snuggling with her as much as I possibly can.
Blakesley started smiling over a week ago and I have seen her little smile about 8 times now! You can tell she's starting to pick up my voice every time I say her name, and I've caught her trying to lock eyes with me and look at my face. She prefers to be up on my shoulder or on my chest, which explains why she loves my baby carrier, the K'tan.
For a while, her sleep pattern was becoming a little predictable at night. She is usually ready to sleep by 7-8 pm and stays asleep until 12-1, then nurses. Then she gets back up around 4:00. It's the 4:00 time frame when it is very hard to get her back to sleep after nursing. And then at that point, I am starting to think about getting up by 5:45 to get ready, pack lunch, make breakfast and get Sonoma ( and Cora and Blakesley ) all out to the bus stop. It's very stressful on the mornings Marcus is not here to try to do all of that by myself, since I have no clue when Blakesley will be ready to nurse. Blakesley is a good nurser so far, and continues to get better. She nurses every 2-3 hours or so during the day. She's been in a growth spurt this week and the other day spent 255 total minutes nursing! ( Thanks to my Baby Nurse app for keeping track so I can see patterns and times ).
