Ever since we started dropping Sonoma off at summer gymnastics camp, Cora cried to stay and do gymnastics too. She has continued to ask "Me, Nasti too?" all summer long. Now that she is two (I started
Sonoma way too early) I decided that she was old enough to start the Parent-Tot gymnastics at the same gym Sonoma attends. It works out great because Sonoma's preschool class is the same time Cora's class is, so we are only making one trip to all do the same activity at the same time. Perfection!

I was totally prepared for the worst, remembering how difficult it can be to teach a 2 year old to wait in line, follow directions, listen to a Coach, etc. I was pleasantly shocked when I realized what a great job Cora did! Of course it could have been beginners' luck, but she really did wait her turn, listen, and do a great job of following instructions on each event. She perfected her forward rolls on the incline mats, she swung from the trapeze (BY HERSELF!) and even worked hard on her trampoline jumps. The only real difficult thing is having Sonoma in a class a few feet away from her, and trying to explain to Cora that she can't be with Sissy. She cried a few times to go over by her, but I think with time she will understand the separation.
Sonoma did equally as well, after a minor meltdown when she realized her Coach was Coach Tony (a very good male coach). She ran over to me and burst into tears, "Mommy, I don't want Coach Tony!" I quickly told her he was the best coach and I had a coach named Tony, and she wiped away her tears and did fine. She mentioned this morning how sore she was!
On another note, Cora is getting so big:
