Sonoma attended a "Toddlers and Turtles" class yesterday at the Red Oak Nature Center, which is part of our park district. When I signed up for the class back in the winter, it sounded like a great idea. Don't get me wrong, Sonoma had a blast, but I almost died from heat exhaustion as we went on a nature hike in the 96 degree heat in the woods at 1:00 in the afternoon. I sure wish Daddy had been available to take her. Regardless, she was so excited and cried when we left ( of course! ) so I know she had a wonderful time.

I'm pretty sure that anyone who makes it through a hike on a day like yesterday, deserves an Oberweis treat!
Sonoma started her second session of summer camp this week - "Barnyard Friends!" She is having a great time so far and learning lots about the farm and farm animals. We haven't been up to much besides cooking and eating up all of the yummy food we bought at the Farmers' Market on Saturday and of course, trying to stay cool. We played with her water table tonight and we are hoping to be at the pool the rest of the week if it isn't raining.
