Pizza Update!

We've all been having so much fun with our elf, Pizza! It's like hunting for an Easter basket every morning, haha! It's such a simple way to get Sonoma excited to be up and out of bed in the morning, ready to start her day.  This past week Pizza got stuck in the basement door hinge, and he also made his way to the oven. Pizza even flew to Bloomington and had fun exploring Mimi and Pa's house over Thanksgiving last week.

Two nights ago Pizza was on Sonoma's dresser, messing with her lotions and hair stuff. He ended up flying back to the North Pole earlier than expected that night after Sonoma wasn't on her best behavior. Sonoma was fighting her bedtime and I was watching her on the monitor when suddenly she realized Pizza was gone. She started screaming hysterically, "Pizza's gone, Pizza's missing, Pizza COME BAAAACCCCKKK!" I went back into her room and said he must have flown away earlier since she was being naughty. Tonight she went to bed without a fight :)

Pizza loved our tree so much that he landed in it this morning!

Sonoma was NOT happy that Pizza had some of her bath toys

I'm still in awe of just how magical this holiday season already is. Sure, the past two Christmases were great having Sonoma around, but 2 1/2 is like this magical age where so many things, especially the holidays, become so much more fun. Sonoma is really understanding everything and everywhere we go, she loves seeing all of the Christmas stuff.  When we drive in the dark, she is in awe of all the Christmas lights and oohs and ahhs over everything that is lit up.  We have been singing Christmas carols all day, every day, and I'm enjoying teaching her the words to all of my favorite songs.  Anytime a new song comes on ( at the house, in the car, when we are out somewhere ) she turns to me and says, "Mommy, what's this song??"  Luckily, I know a lot of music, but she never fails to ask what a song is when a new one comes on.  It's so cute!
