Parties & Pumpkins

What a fun weekend!  Parties & Pumpkins just about sums it up.  We kicked off the weekend with carving pumpkins on Friday evening.  Sonoma really wanted to carve her own pumpkin and she did a great job!  Cora wanted nothing to do with digging out the pumpkin guts, but we all enjoyed the roasted pumpkin seeds that we are still snacking on daily.  We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful, perfect fall weekend.  We sure have lucked out and it really has made us all stop and look at all of the breath taking colors around us!

Jack-O-Lanterns!

On Saturday, Marcus had to golf for work so I took the girls to Blackberry Farm for one last time before they close for the season.  We met my friend and business partner, Amy, her husband, Chris, and her little girl Nora who is 3, and new baby Lyla who was just born 2 months ago.  Sonoma and Nora have been the best of friends since they met this summer and always play so well together.

They all look like sisters here!

One last train ride!

On Saturday evening we went to our neighbor's house for their annual Halloween costume party.  They always go ALL out and have SO many Halloween decorations!  It was so awesome!!

Bunco girls!

On Sunday afternoon we went to the Children's Halloween Party at Stonebridge.  They had face painting, a bounce house, s'mores by the fire pit, a wild animal show, a hanuted house and a Halloween themed buffet.  It was Sonoma's first time going through a Haunted House (Me and Marcus took her and Cora stayed back with some of our friends) and she did great!  Better than me, haha!  When we came out she said, "Mommy, next time we go in a haunted house be calm okay??"  I was definitely screaming my head off!

Cora got her face painted for the first time and did so well.  She didn't move a muscle when she was getting it done

Frozen themed face painting!

Yes, that is Cora petting a skunk.  Ew!

First caramel apple!

Ending the night coloring by the fire pit and super tired.

We were thankful to have a beautiful weekend in October, as that was our last official one!  This Friday marks the last day of the month, which is also Halloween and boy are we on cloud 9 over here counting down the days! I knew I should have waited until Friday to buy all of the Halloween candy.  I can't stop eating it :-/  Tomorrow, Sonoma gets to wear her costume to Preschool for a Halloween party, on Thursday both of the girls get to wear their costumes to PDO for the PDO Halloween party, and then on Friday my parents will be arriving to celebrate Halloween and the girls cannot wait to go trick-or-treating.  And I cannot wait to get pictures of them in their costumes!  Stay tuned!!
