Goodbye, January!

January is just about in the books, and I want to take a moment to re-cap the first month of 2015 and how it ended:

My in-laws surprised me and Sonoma with tickets to the IU basketball game today. For the past month, Sonoma and I had planned our special Mommy Daughter trip back to Indiana. Up until Friday morning we watched the weather and made the tough decision to cancel our trip. Northern IN and Chicago are slated to get snow tonight and tomorrow and I just didn't feel comfortable driving in the snow by myself, let alone with my daughter. Not only did we miss out on the IU game today, but we had special dinners with family planned, I had a night out planned with some of my best friends from high school, and one of my new consultants on my team had her launch party today to celebrate her business launching in Bloomington. I was really bummed out to miss everything, but we had to move on and make the best out of our weekend here at home.

And we did! we quickly made plans Friday morning with Sarah and Charlotte to see the movie Paddington at Wheaton Studio Movie Grill. It was such a cute movie and a great mommy daughter date.

Later that night we tried out an old school local pizza joint some of our friends recommended to us: Ach n Lou's.  Oh my gosh, the pizza was so delicious. This is definitely our new spot!

Today, I took Sonoma to gymnastics and Marcus finally had the time this afternoon to get estimates on my 4-runner and do some preliminary car shopping. We know it is the smartest decision to try to sell the 4-runner now while it is still worth something, as opposed to when it dies or needs a big repair and is worth nothing. My February goal is to get a new car!

After Marcus got home, we had a family movie night and watched The Lego Movie, which finally became available at our library.

However, I told Sonoma she had to take a nap today to stay up late for a movie. After, much arguing, she finally fell asleep downstairs in the beanbag!

And, here are some more pictures from our last week of January:

This girl is a GREAT duster! She did all my stair spindles, bed spindles, chairs, etc.  Love it!

Sweetest dog ever.

In case you didn't know, I am NOT good at hair. Sonoma has been begging me to do French braids, crazy up dos, Elsa styles, etc. Soo... I am finally getting around to watching YouTube videos and learning how to braid:

This past week was pajama week at PDO. Sonoma is obsessed with this fan of mine I had when I was a little girl.

Goodbye, January. You were long and cold, but you were still pretty good to us. Cheers to a happy, healthy month for the Fischers!
