Weekend Wrap Up

 

 

March is here!  While we welcomed March with a few more snow flurries, I have a good feeling that this is going to be a GREAT month.  We have lots of fun stuff planned, and anything is better than January and February, in my opinion!

 

 

Marcus worked The Chicago Golf Show all weekend, promoting his event.  The girls and I had a date night on Friday at Chickfila.

 

Saturday we headed downtown in the morning to The Art Institute. It's one of our very favorite places to be in the city, and I love all the pictures we have taken there over the years with the girls.  It had been a while since we had all been down there.

It was still very cold out, but at least the sun was shining!

We got there right when the Institute opened, and the girls had some of our favorite paintings all to themselves.

If you have never seen the  THORNE MINIATURE ROOMS at The Art Institute, then add it to your to do list next time you are in Chicago.  I can't believe we had never looked at them before today, considering how many times we have been to the Art Institute.  They are absolutely amazing! There are close to a hundred little doll house size rooms that allow one to glimpse into the European interiors from the late 13th century to the 1930s and American furnishings from the 17th century to the 1930s.  They are all constructed on a scale of one inch to one foot. I could have spent all day looking at these.

There's an exhibit all about geometric shapes and the pictures being jumbled up.  The kids had their pictures taken in the children's area and then they could cut it up and make their own masterpiece.  Sonoma loved it!

We decided not to bring a stroller, and Cora was EXHAUSTED by lunch time.

 

After church on Sunday, Marcus had to head back to The Chicago Golf Show, and I took the girls to their friend, Nora's 4th birthday party at My Gym.

 

The girls LOVE My Gym, and are really familiar with the facility, since we participate in their Parents Night Out events from time to time.

 

It was such a cute birthday party, and the girls had a blast.  Happy Birthday, Nora!
